Born on the
Andaman Shore
Sundara has been sailing guests along Krabi's limestone coast since 2012 — a small, attentive charter company that believes the best time on the water starts with good people and a well-kept boat.
← Back to HomeA Charter Built on Familiarity
Sundara started as a single sailing boat operated by two friends who had spent years working on yachts across the Indo-Pacific. They settled in Ao Nang because of the variety — limestone karsts, island clusters, shifting reefs, and calm sheltered bays within easy reach of one another. The conditions here, they felt, suited a charter operation that could offer genuine sailing rather than motor-taxi trips with a mast.
Over the years the fleet grew modestly. More important than size was maintaining consistency: the same standards of vessel care, the same approach to hospitality, and the same willingness to change the plan when the sea or the guests suggested something better.
Today Sundara serves a mix of couples, families, small groups, and solo travellers looking for something calmer and more personal than a packed tour boat. We sail year-round, adjusting routes and timing to the seasons and the needs of each group aboard.
Our Mission
To make sailing the Andaman accessible and unhurried — letting guests experience the water on its own terms, with a crew that knows when to speak and when to let the sea do the talking.
Our Crew
Prayuth Tanakorn
Sailed the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman for over eighteen years. Prayuth handles route planning, tidal calculations, and the quieter anchorages no map marks clearly.
Nong Siriporn
Coordinates bookings, provisions, and dietary arrangements before each charter. Nong has a talent for making logistics feel invisible to guests.
Krit Worawich
PADI-trained, with a deep familiarity with the reef systems around Koh Poda and Chicken Island. Krit leads snorkeling sessions and handles deck safety.
Safety, Maintenance & Practice
Thai Maritime Compliance
All vessels hold current registration and safety certificates issued by the Thai Maritime Department. Annual inspections are part of our operating calendar.
Safety Equipment
Each yacht carries life jackets for all passengers, flares, a first-aid kit, VHF radio, and emergency beacon. Pre-departure safety briefings are standard.
Regular Maintenance
Hulls, rigging, engines, and electrical systems are checked on a rolling schedule. No vessel goes out with outstanding maintenance items.
Marine Conservation
We observe park anchoring rules, avoid sensitive reef areas, and operate a no-single-use-plastic policy aboard all vessels. Waste is taken ashore for proper disposal.
Guest Privacy
We collect only what we need to coordinate your charter. Booking information is stored securely and never shared with third-party marketing services.
Tourism Authority of Thailand
Sundara is a registered tourism operator with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, operating within the standards required of licensed marine charter services.
Yacht Charter from Krabi — Knowledge and Presence
Krabi Province offers one of Southeast Asia's most varied sailing environments — sheltered bays between karst towers, open-water passages to offshore island clusters, and tidal flats that reveal new passages each season. Navigating these waters well requires time, repetition, and an understanding of how weather, current, and season interact across this stretch of the Andaman.
Sundara's crew has accumulated that knowledge over years of daily work on the water. They understand which anchorages offer shelter when the afternoon wind builds from the southwest, which reef sections are worth visiting at which tide, and how to read the sky along the Krabi coast before the rest of the day's weather has made itself apparent.
Our approach to yacht charter prioritises small groups and private hire over shared capacity. This allows the crew to make decisions based on each group's preferences, pace, and comfort rather than a fixed departure schedule. The result is a more personal, quieter experience on the water — something guests who have previously joined high-capacity tours often describe as a meaningful contrast.
